This week’s spotlight goes to the final issue of the immensely entertaining/bizarre Locke & Key: Clockworks from Joe Hill. The twisted tale of a family trying to escape a tragic past and finding keys that have all sorts of interesting uses reaches its conclusion in Locke & Key: Clockworks #6. Only one more story arc after this! If you’re looking for something different, this series is a good way to go.

If huge crossover events are more your speed, it going to be a busy week. Marvel’s Avengers vs. X-Men is laying it on pretty thick with 5 new titles! This week we have Avengers #26, Avengers Academy #30, Uncanny X-Men #12, Avengers vs. X-Men #4, and AVX Vs. #2. Then, over in Gotham City, the Court of Owls’ reign of terror continues. This week’s Night of the Owls titles are Catwoman #9, Nightwing #9, and Red Hood & the Outlaws #9.

In non-owl related DC news, there’s plenty of other stuff going on. There seems to be a bounty hunter with Oan tech on the loose, and he’s got Blue Beetle in his sights. Throw Kyle Rayner and the New Guardians in the mix, and you’ve got the makings of a very colorful battle in blue Beetle #9. Also, Wonder Woman’s journey through Hades continues to make her life difficult in Wonder Woman #9, and the new story arc “The Villain’s journey” kicks off in Justice League #9.

Over in the Marvel Universe, there’s more going on than just Avengers vs. X-Men! Looking to get into reading about the Hulk? This week’s Incredible Hulk #7.1 makes a great jumping on point. Elsewhere, Eddie Brock is forced to don the Venom symbiote as a group of villains team up to make Flash Thompson’s life considerably more miserable in Venom #18, and Bucky and Black Widow do what they do best in order to prevent war in Latveria in Winter Soldier #5

Meanwhile, the new issue of Brian k. Vaugn’s hit series lands with Saga #3, there’s a new assortment of Predator action figures coming our way, the new Bowman 2012 baseball cards will be here, and some super-cute Batman: Dark Knight Rises Pop figures are coming! Also, what time is it? That’s right, Adventure Time #4 is on the way.

The spotlight this week goes to the caped crusader himself, Batman. The Night of the Owls crossover event is in full swing, and this week brings three new titles. In Batman #9, The Talons have breached the Batcave, and Batman has a new suit of armor to show them exactly why that was bad idea. Then, in Batgirl #9 the Court of Owls has decided to go after Jim Gordon, but with his daughter being Batgirl, their target might be a tougher one than they think. Finally, Robin takes on a Talon all by himself in Batman and Robin #9.

The Marvel Universe is quite the busy place these days. First off, there’s a fun little trip through history called Hulk Smash Avengers. This week sees the first two issues, in which the Hulk takes on the Avengers from the 60′s and 70′s respectively. Then there’s the New Mutants/Journey Into Mystery crossover “Exiled”. The story of Gods made mortal continues in Journey Into Mystery #637. Marvel’s “Season One” initiative sees a new release as well with the Spider-Man: Season One hardcover, which is basically a modern retelling of Spider-Man’s origin story. Finally, MArvel’s biggest crossover event “Avengers vs. X-Men” gets three new titles with New Avengers #26, Wolverine and the X-Men #10, and X-Men: Legacy #266.

Are you looking for something new to read? Well, this week just might be a good time to start because there’s a whole bunch of new #1′s headed your way. We have Trio #1, Takio #1, Mystery in Space #1, Mind the Gap #1, Higher Earth #1, Frankenstein: Alive! Alive! #1, Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms #1, Fury Max #1, Marvel Zombies: Destroy #1, and Dan the Unharmable #1. That’s a lot of new titles!

Meanwhile, we’ve got some new Transformers action figures coming in, a new set of Batman: Arkham City figures, everyone’s favorite zombie series inches ever closer to it’s landmark 100th issue with Walking Dead #97, there’s yet another new assortment of Marvel Minimates, and more of those super-adorable Pop Heroes!
